Festa Particular. Ana Jotta & Jorge Nesbitt
Over the past five decades, Portuguese artist Ana Jotta has developed a deeply personal artistic vocabulary that rejects and antagonizes all forms of classification and identification. Instead of a recognizable style, she advocates for incoherence and irreverence. She appropriates all aesthetic categories, subverts and transcends them, creating a world that exists only on her own terms. She is drawn to collecting images, objects, and even phrases, and her acts of collection fully intertwine with her acts of creation.
In the exhibition Festa Particular, Ana Jotta collaborates with artist Jorge Nesbitt to create a series of ceramics that once again showcase the playful spirit that has so characterized her work throughout her career.
