Aquell mateix any, Berger va fer una pel\u00b7l\u00edcula per a l'Open University que relacionava la novel\u00b7la de Zola <em>Germinal,<\/em> un conflicte industrial del segle xix, amb les lluites contempor\u00e0nies. Nom\u00e9s es va emetre\u00a0 tres vegades \u2014tamb\u00e9 durant la\u00a0 vaga de miners de 1984 al Regne Unit\u2014 i va caure en l'oblit.
