Entre les peces que van conformar aquesta exposici\u00f3, hi havia una s\u00e8rie de retrats de oficials que formaven part de les Unitats d'Intervenci\u00f3 del Cos Nacional de Policia. Les imatges havien estat captades pels artistes l'any anterior durant la manifestaci\u00f3 que es va dur a terme a la ciutat de Madrid el 25 d'abril de 2013 sota el lema \"Asedia el Congreso\".\u00a0Al tancament de l'exposici\u00f3 es van rebre dues den\u00fancies dirigides tant a la galeria com als artistes: una per inj\u00faries per via penal i una altra per exhibici\u00f3 de dades de car\u00e0cter personal, presentada pel Sindicat Unificat de Policia per via administrativa davant l'Ag\u00e8ncia Espanyola de Protecci\u00f3 de Dades.\r\n\r\nCom \u00e9s sabut, el relat que ha constru\u00eft la galeria entorn de la tr\u00edada art, pol\u00edtica i societat, ha rebut m\u00e9s den\u00fancies i pressions per part d'altres estaments i institucions. Episodis que han marcat la nostra hist\u00f2ria i sobre els que ara volem reflexionar revisitant <em>16 retratos<\/em>, aquesta vegada alterats de forma volunt\u00e0ria per DEMOCRACIA, sota una mena d\u2019\"imperatiu legal\" amb una doble finalitat: protegir-nos de nosaltres mateixos i posar de manifest que l'autocensura est\u00e0 a la caixa d'eines per defecte del sector cultural.\r\n\r\nEn aquest exposici\u00f3, acompanyem aquests retrats alterats amb altres peces de la col\u00b7lecci\u00f3 ADN i d'artistes amb qu\u00e8 treballem que tracten la iconografia i tem\u00e0tica policial.\r\n\r\n<em>Amb obres d'Eduardo Arroyo, Equipo Cr\u00f3nica, DEMOCRACIA, Kendell Geers, N\u00faria G\u00fcell , Imon Boy, Eugenio Merino, Joan Pall\u00e9, Avelino Sala<\/em>.","desc_es":"Hace diez a\u00f1os, el 3 de octubre de 2014, inauguramos en ADN Galeria la exposici\u00f3n <em>We Protect You from Yourselves<\/em> del colectivo <strong>DEMOCRACIA<\/strong>. Episodios que han marcado nuestra historia y sobre los que ahora queremos reflexionar revisitando <em>16 retratos<\/em>, esta vez alterados de forma voluntaria por DEMOCRACIA, bajo una suerte de \"imperativo legal\" con una doble finalidad: protegernos de nosotros mismos y poner de manifiesto que la auto-censura est\u00e1 en la caja de herramientas por defecto del sector cultural.\r\n\r\nEn esta exposici\u00f3n, acompa\u00f1amos estos retratos alterados con otras piezas de la colecci\u00f3n ADN y de artistas con los que trabajamos que tratan la iconograf\u00eda y tem\u00e1tica policial.\r\n\r\n<em>Con obras de Eduardo Arroyo, Equipo Cr\u00f3nica, DEMOCRACIA, Kendell Geers, N\u00faria G\u00fcell , Imon Boy, Eugenio Merino, Joan Pall\u00e9, Avelino Sala.<\/em>","desc_en":"Ten years ago, on October 3, 2014, we inaugurated the exhibition <em>We Protect You from Yourselves<\/em> by <strong>DEMOCRACIA<\/strong> collective at ADN Galeria. Among the pieces that made up this exhibition, there was a series of portraits of officers who were part of the Intervention Units of the National Police Force. The images had been captured by artists the previous year during the demonstration that took place in the city of Madrid on April 25, 2013 under the slogan \"Asedia el Congreso\".\u00a0At the close of the exhibition, two complaints were filed against both the gallery and the artists: one for criminal libel and the other for the exhibition of personal data filed by the Unified Police Union through administrative proceedings at the Spanish Data Protection Agency.\r\n\r\nAs is well known, the story that the gallery has built around the triad art, politics and society, has received more denunciations and pressures from other groups and institutions. These episodes have left a mark on our history, prompting us to reflect as we revisit <em>16 retratos<\/em>.
