Vaig organitzar l\u00ednies laterals lleugerament helicoidals per donar la impres- si\u00f3 que all\u00f2 arrencava de l\u2019esquerra i pujava cap a la dreta. Vaig organitzar signes, pals m\u00e9s que no pas gargots, i vaig escriure tan de pressa com vaig poder amb aquells pals, mirant d\u2019orientar-los d\u2019una manera diferent per fer que expressessin un ritme.\u00bb Aquests signes s\u2019aproximen clarament a l\u2019escriptura, com a sistema de pals, de punts, d\u2019angles, de cercles i d\u2019on- dulacions que es repeteixen, que ressonen entre ells, capa\u00e7os de produir m\u00faltiples variacions. L\u2019obra, per\u00f2, no se sotmet a uns codis. Sempre hi ha alguna cosa que es resisteix a la instauraci\u00f3 d\u2019un sistema, alguna cosa que porta agitaci\u00f3 i confusi\u00f3, que \u00abcrea desordre\u00bb. Esos signos se aproximan claramente a la escritura, como sistema de palos, de puntos, de \u00e1ngulos, de c\u00edrculos y de ondulaciones que se repiten, que resuenan entre ellos, capaces de pro- ducir m\u00faltiples variaciones. Sin embargo, la obra no se pliega a unos c\u00f3di- gos. Siempre hay algo que se resiste a la instauraci\u00f3n de un sistema, algo que lleva agitaci\u00f3n y confusi\u00f3n, que \u00abcrea desorden\u00bb. Georges No\u00ebl\u2019s painting is made up of lines that shatter and undulate, intermix and blur together without any precise determination. \u201c[\u2026] I began to want to tame these signs [\u2026] To achieve that, I needed to find a framework; the framework is the musical stave, the school exercise book. I organised slightly helicoidal lateral lines to give the impression that the movement began on the left and rose toward the right. I organised signs, sticks rather than scribbles, and I wrote as fast as I could using these motifs while trying to orient them differently to make them express a rhythm.\u201d These signs clearly resemble a script in that they are a system of downstrokes, dots, chevrons, loops and undulations that repeat and echo each other and are capable of multiple variations. The work, however, does not comply with codes. Something always resists the establishment of a system, a something that triggers agitation and confusion, a something that \u2018creates disorder\u2019.
