Aquest nasqu\u00e9 amb l\u2019objectiu de posar en valor els or\u00edgens de la galeria i els artistes hist\u00f2rics que hi han tingut vincle, reclamar-los i\/o donar-los a con\u00e8ixer, aix\u00ed com estudiar-los mitjan\u00e7ant la recerca i projectes expositius al servei d\u2019il\u00b7lustrar diferents episodis de la seva traject\u00f2ria i, en general, de la hist\u00f2ria de l\u2019art.\r\n\r\nEn aquesta ocasi\u00f3, l\u2019espectre cronol\u00f2gic parteix de la data fundacional de la Sala Par\u00e9s com a galeria d\u2019art (1877) i es desenvolupa fins el 1950.
