El projecte se centra en una forma de mem\u00f2ria f\u00edsica: una cultura material oculta, no directament visible, per\u00f2 present a l'espai d'Espai Souvenir. Com si fos un estrat arqueol\u00f2gic que, en ser excavat, revela el passat del lloc.\r\nAmb aquest treball instal\u00b7latiu, l'artista en resid\u00e8ncia Enrico Scapinelli (Bolonya, 1993) reflexiona sobre les possibilitats de donar subjectivitat, entesa com a forma de caracteritzaci\u00f3, una continu\u00eftat a nivell d'interioritat o la pres\u00e8ncia d'una for\u00e7a vital als objectes trobats al magatzem d'Espai Souvenir.\r\nA trav\u00e9s d'assemblatges escult\u00f2rics d'objectes m\u00e9s o menys quotidians, investiga l'ag\u00e8ncia d'aquests elements en un intent d'humanitzar-los i experimentar una altra realitat social i existencial, tot recuperant una relaci\u00f3 animista amb l'entorn natural, els altres \u00e9ssers i la mat\u00e8ria. Segons la teoria de l'animisme de l'antrop\u00f2leg brit\u00e0nic Edward Tylor, els objectes no s\u00f3n mers intermediaris a la xarxa de relacions socials, sin\u00f3 que es converteixen ells mateixos en actors en la mesura que estan habitats per un esperit o similar.\r\nPer\u00f2 com donar \u201cvida\u201d a un objecte? Com insuflar-li un al\u00e8 vital o de for\u00e7a - esperit? Una possible resposta, a la sala principal, \u00e9s suggerir impl\u00edcitament el ritme de la respiraci\u00f3, primer signe vital d'un cos. Moviment i al\u00e8 com a indicis d'una pres\u00e8ncia. Una altra via per percebre la vida com a interioritat es troba a la bossa negra de la qual emergeix una canya de bamb\u00fa, evocant l'espiritualitat de l'Orient Lluny\u00e0 (taoisme, zen, samurais, monjos, etc.), i connectant, a l'imaginari contemporani, amb les Tortugues Ninja, afectades per una muni\u00f3.\r\nSorgeix aix\u00ed un estrany curtcircuit: un objecte quotidi\u00e0 que intenta desprendre's de la seva materialitat per acostar-se a una dimensi\u00f3 m\u00e9s espiritual i lleugera. \u00c9s aquest intent de transcendir la seva pr\u00f2pia naturalesa un indici de consci\u00e8ncia an\u00edmica? De vida interior? O una activitat subterr\u00e0nia?\r\nFins i tot atribuir qualitats humanes com la simpatia o l'amabilitat (per exemple, \u201cmate friendly delivery\u201d) a tubs i materials usats per arxivar o transportar obres bidimensionals pot tornar una empremta de subjectivitat a all\u00f2 inanimat. Com quan parlem amb un ordinador que es bloqueja o amb el cotxe que no arrenca.\r\nA l'actual escenari hiperconnectat del turbocapitalisme, sobreviuen formes desdibuixades d'animisme que, malgrat tot, permeten imaginar noves relacions entre el m\u00f3n hum\u00e0 i el no hum\u00e0.\r\n\r\nEnrico Scapinelli \u00e9s un artista visual amb formaci\u00f3 en antropologia, que viu i treballa a Bolonya. La seva pr\u00e0ctica es caracteritza per un enfocament multim\u00e8dia que inclou la pintura, l'escultura i la instal\u00b7laci\u00f3. Treballa recuperant materials naturals, objectes i productes seriats, imatges i dades procedents de la xarxa.\r\nLa seva recerca se centra en l'est\u00e8tica del disseny industrial i del m\u00e0rqueting amb l'objectiu de generar una reflexi\u00f3 cr\u00edtica sobre les crisis de la contemporane\u00eftat, els aturats del consumisme i els efectes sociopol\u00edtics i mediambientals de la hipertecnologitzaci\u00f3.\r\nHa exposat i realitzat instal\u00b7lacions en espais p\u00fablics i privats. El 2024 va rebre la menci\u00f3 especial del Premi Roberto Daolio per a l'art p\u00fablic, i ha estat finalista del Young Art Award (2025) i del Premi Fundaci\u00f3 Amedeo Modigliani (2023). Como si se tratara de un estrato arqueol\u00f3gico que, al ser excavado, revela el pasado del lugar.\r\nCon este trabajo instalativo, el artista en residencia Enrico Scapinelli (Bolonia, 1993) reflexiona sobre las posibilidades de dar subjetividad, entendida como forma de caracterizaci\u00f3n, una continuidad a nivel de interioridad o la presencia de una fuerza vital, a los objetos encontrados en el almac\u00e9n de Espai Souvenir.\r\nA trav\u00e9s de ensamblajes escult\u00f3ricos de objetos m\u00e1s o menos cotidianos, investiga la agencia de estos elementos en un intento de humanizarlos y experimentar otra realidad social y existencial, recuperando una relaci\u00f3n animista con el entorno natural, los dem\u00e1s seres y la materia. Seg\u00fan la teor\u00eda del animismo del antrop\u00f3logo brit\u00e1nico Edward Tylor, los objetos no son meros intermediarios en la red de relaciones sociales, sino que se convierten ellos mismos en actores en la medida en que est\u00e1n habitados por un esp\u00edritu o similar.\r\nPero, \u00bfc\u00f3mo dar \u201cvida\u201d a un objeto? \u00bfC\u00f3mo insuflarle un aliento vital o a fuerza - esp\u00edritu? Una posible respuesta, en la sala principal, es sugerir de forma impl\u00edcita el ritmo de la respiraci\u00f3n, primer signo vital de un cuerpo. Movimiento y aliento como indicios de una presencia. Otra v\u00eda para percibir la vida como interioridad se encuentra en la bolsa negra de la que emerge una ca\u00f1a de bamb\u00fa, evocando la espiritualidad del Lejano Oriente (tao\u00edsmo, zen, samur\u00e1is, monjes, etc.), y conectando, en el imaginario contempor\u00e1neo, con las Tortugas Ninja, afectadas por una mutaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica provocada por la radiactividad del entorno.\r\nSurge as\u00ed un extra\u00f1o cortocircuito: un objeto cotidiano que intenta desprenderse de su materialidad para acercarse a una dimensi\u00f3n m\u00e1s espiritual y liviana. \u00bfEs este intento de trascender su propia naturaleza un indicio de conciencia an\u00edmica? \u00bfDe vida interior? \u00bfO de una actividad subterr\u00e1nea?\r\nIncluso el atribuir cualidades humanas como la simpat\u00eda o la amabilidad (por ejemplo, \u201cmate friendly delivery\u201d) a tubos y materiales usados para archivar o transportar obras bidimensionales puede devolver una huella de subjetividad a lo inanimado. Como cuando hablamos con un ordenador que se bloquea o con el coche que no arranca.\r\nEn el actual escenario hiperconectado del turbocapitalismo, sobreviven formas desdibujadas de animismo que, pese a todo, permiten imaginar nuevas relaciones entre el mundo humano y el no humano.\r\n\r\nEnrico Scapinelli es un artista visual con formaci\u00f3n en antropolog\u00eda, que vive y trabaja en Bolonia. Su pr\u00e1ctica se caracteriza por un enfoque multimedia que abarca la pintura, la escultura y la instalaci\u00f3n. The project focuses on a form of physical memory: a hidden material culture, not directly visible, but present in the space of Espai Souvenir. As if it were an archaeological stratum that, when excavated, reveals the past of the place.\r\nWith this installation work, the artist in residence Enrico Scapinelli (Bologna, 1993) reflects on the possibilities of giving subjectivity, understood as a form of characterisation, a continuity at the level of interiority (1) or the presence of a vital force, to the objects found in the warehouse of\u00a0Espai\u00a0Souvenir.\r\nThrough sculptural assemblages of more or less everyday objects, he investigates the agency (2) of these elements in an attempt to humanise them and experience another social and existential reality, recovering an animistic relationship with the natural environment, other beings and matter. According to the British anthropologist Edward Tylor's theory of animism, objects are not mere intermediaries in the network of social relations, but become actors themselves insofar as they are inhabited by a spirit or similar (3).\r\nBut how to give \u2018life\u2019 to an object? How to breathe life-breath or spirit-force into it? One possible answer, in the main room, is to implicitly suggest the rhythm of breathing, the first vital sign of a body. Movement and breath as signs of a presence. Another way of perceiving life as interiority is found in the black bag from which a bamboo reed emerges, evoking the spirituality of the Far East (Taoism, Zen, samurai, monks, etc.), and connecting, in the contemporary imaginary, with the Ninja Turtles, affected by a genetic mutation caused by the radioactivity of the environment.\r\nA strange short-circuit emerges: an everyday object that attempts to shed its materiality in order to approach a lighter, more spiritual dimension. Is this attempt to transcend its own nature a sign of soul-consciousness? Of inner life or of subterranean activity?\r\nEven attributing human qualities such as sympathy or friendliness (e.g. \u2018mate friendly delivery\u2019) to tubes and materials used for archiving or transporting two-dimensional works can return a trace of subjectivity to the inanimate. As when we talk to a computer that crashes or to a car that won't start (4).\r\nIn today's hyper-connected scenario of turbo-capitalism, blurred forms of animism survive which, despite everything, allow us to imagine new relations between the human and non-human worlds.\r\n\r\nEnrico Scapinelli is a visual artist with a background in anthropology, who lives and works in Bologna. His practice is characterised by a multimedia approach that encompasses painting, sculpture and installation. He works by recovering natural materials, objects and serial products, images and data from the web. His research focuses on the aesthetics of industrial design and marketing with the aim of generating a critical reflection on the crises of contemporaneity, the unemployed of consumerism and the socio-political and environmental effects of hyper-technologisation. He has exhibited and created installations in public and private spaces. In 2024 he received the special mention of the Roberto Daolio Prize for public art, and has been a finalist for the Young Art Award (2025) and the Amedeo Modigliani Foundation Prize (2023).
