Harri P\u00e4lviranta","desc_ca":"Amb el canvi clim\u00e0tic, els incendis forestals s'estan tornant m\u00e9s freq\u00fcents i intensos. Es propaguen m\u00e9s r\u00e0pidament i duren m\u00e9s temps. Els incendis forestals al sud d'Europa del 2023 semblen ser un exemple d'aquesta tend\u00e8ncia: aproximadament el catorze per cent de la superf\u00edcie de l'illa de Rodes es va cremar en nom\u00e9s una setmana, mentre que els incendis al sud d'It\u00e0lia van durar diversos mesos.\r\n\r\nAquests incendis forestals, tan extensos i violents, m'interessen per diverses raons. En primer lloc, m'atrauen visualment les empremtes que deixa el foc i la calor. En segon lloc, la traducci\u00f3 o adaptaci\u00f3 de la marca d'una cremada a una representaci\u00f3 fotogr\u00e0fica em resulta fascinant, ja que tamb\u00e9 ofereix un marc per a consideracions te\u00f2riques i una reavaluaci\u00f3 de la idea de document. En tercer lloc, em preocupa l'impacte dels incendis forestals sobre les condicions clim\u00e0tiques globals i el paper de l'\u00e9sser hum\u00e0 en la seva expansi\u00f3.\r\n\r\nVeig els boscos i els arbustos cremats com a signes indicials del foc. A partir d'aqu\u00ed, em pregunto com un incendi forestal i les seves empremtes poden convertir-se en una imatge, o en una s\u00e8rie d'imatges. Em centro en les petjades, les traces, els vestigis. Frego amb teles blanques els arbres cremats, creant una esp\u00e8cie de dibuixos a carb\u00f3. En tercer lugar, me preocupa el impacto de los incendios forestales sobre las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas globales y el papel del ser humano en su expansi\u00f3n.\r\n\r\nVeo los bosques y arbustos quemados como signos indiciales del fuego. A partir de ah\u00ed, me cuestiono c\u00f3mo un incendio forestal y sus huellas pueden convertirse en una imagen, o en una serie de im\u00e1genes. They are spreading faster and lasting longer. The wildfires in southern Europe in 2023 appear exemplary of this development - about fourteen percent of the surface area of the island of Rhodes burned just in one week, while the wildfires in southern Italy lasted for months.\r\n\r\nThese vast and violent wildfires interest me for several reasons. First of all, I am visually interested in the traces produced by burning and heat. Secondly, the translation or adaptation of a burn mark into a photographic representation appears fascinating because it also provides a platform for theoretical considerations, re-evaluation of an idea of a document. Thirdly, I am concerned about the impact of wildfires on our global climate conditions, and humans\u2019 part in their expansion.\r\n\r\nI see burnt forests and bushes as indexical signs of the fires. Following this I ask how a wildfire and its traces can be turned into an image, or a series of images. I concentrate on the imprints, traces, vestiges. I rub the burned trees with white cloth, making a kind of charcoal drawings.
