En 2003, Montero inici\u00f3 su carrera en la danza en el Conservatorio de Danza Alina Abreu. Se gradu\u00f3 de la Escuela Nacional de Danza de BellasArtes (Endanza) y de Pro Danza en La Habana. Su trayectoria profesional incluye su participaci\u00f3n en la producci\u00f3n de Cecilia Vald\u00e9s en el Teatro de la Zarzuela, marcando un hito como parte del primer ballet negro en este teatro. Tambi\u00e9n form\u00f3 parte de la compa\u00f1\u00eda Dunia Dance Theatre en B\u00e9lgica, bajo la direcci\u00f3n del core\u00f3grafo Harold George. Licenciada en Coreograf\u00eda e Interpretaci\u00f3n de Danza por la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (ISDAl), Montero posee una amplia experiencia en danza contempor\u00e1nea, improvisaci\u00f3n y composici\u00f3n instant\u00e1nea, con formaci\u00f3n bajo la compositora Chefa Alonso. Ha trabajado con destacados core\u00f3grafos como Jes\u00fas Rubio y Poliana Lima, enriqueciendo su lenguaje art\u00edstico y explorando nuevas narrativas del cuerpo en escena. Uno de sus proyectos m\u00e1s relevantes es la plataforma ZebraPrieta, que promueve la diversidad y la representaci\u00f3n en la danza. Su obra El mal<\/em>com\u00edo no piensa <\/em>fue finalista y premiada en el 35\u00ba Certamen Coreogr\u00e1fico de Madrid 2021, y en el certamen Solo Improvisa en Sala Cuarta Pared el mismo a\u00f1o. Su trabajo ha sido presentado en festivales de renombre como Danza Metropolitana y FIT de C\u00e1diz, consolidando su presencia en la escena internacional. En 2025, particip\u00f3 en el Festival Kontorno en Praia, Cabo Verde, donde dirigi\u00f3 una residencia de danza con j\u00f3venes locales y present\u00f3 un extracto de su investigaci\u00f3n esc\u00e9nica Arro con Mango<\/em>, una obra que pone en di\u00e1logo el cuerpo cuir, la negritud y las tensiones intra-comunitarias a trav\u00e9s de una pr\u00e1ctica art\u00edstica situada. Montero desaf\u00eda estereotipos a trav\u00e9s de su enfoque art\u00edstico, abordando temas sociales relevantes y utilizando la danza como medio de conciencia y reflexi\u00f3n. \r\n\r\nMalvin Starlin Montero Fr\u00edas \u2013 Puerca de Goma<\/strong>. Movement artist trained in classical ballet, contemporary dance, Afrodance and free improvisation. Their practice is rooted in community, creating a living movement that democratises dance and bridges ritual with the everyday. Through their work, they explore forced labour and the romanticisation of mestizaje<\/em> in the Caribbean (*El delirio de la mulata*), challenging structures and using the body as a bridge between history, identity and social transformation. Montero began their dance career in 2003 at the Alina Abreu Dance Conservatory. They graduated from the National School of Dance of Fine Arts (Endanza) and Pro Danza in Havana. Their professional path includes performing in *Cecilia Vald\u00e9s* at Teatro de la Zarzuela, marking a milestone as part of the First Black ballet in that venue. They were also a member of Dunia Dance Theatre in Belgium, under the direction of choreographer Harold George. Holding a degree in Choreography and Dance Performance from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (ISDAl), Montero has broad experience in contemporary dance, improvisation and instant composition, including training with composer Chefa Alonso. They have worked with renowned choreographers such as Jes\u00fas Rubio and Poliana Lima, expanding their artistic language and exploring new narratives of the body on stage.
