L\u2019elecci\u00f3 d\u2019aquesta paraula no va ser arbitr\u00e0ria: en angl\u00e8s, el terme encarna una ambig\u00fcitat sem\u00e0ntica, m\u00faltiples capes interpretatives i un alt potencial de malentesos. Lluny de considerar-la una afirmaci\u00f3 tancada, li va servir per assenyalar una de les condicions estructurals de l\u2019art: el seu car\u00e0cter artifici\u00f3s, ficcional i fins i tot engany\u00f3s, per\u00f2, al mateix temps, la seva capacitat per vehicular formes complexes de veritat.\r\n\r\nAl llarg d\u2019aquests vint anys, aquella inscripci\u00f3 a la pell es pot llegir com l\u2019inici simb\u00f2lic d\u2019una traject\u00f2ria art\u00edstica basada en l\u2019ambig\u00fcitat, la pluralitat i l\u2019obertura. Lluny de buscar formes definitives o un llenguatge un\u00edvoc, Joan Morey ha desenvolupat el seu treball des de posicions inestables i, en ocasions, contradict\u00f2ries. En aquesta oscil\u00b7laci\u00f3 resideix precisament la seva pot\u00e8ncia: la capacitat d\u2019allotjar altres veus, encarnar cossos aliens i canalitzar demandes \u2014propies i col\u00b7lectives\u2014 que interpel\u00b7len cr\u00edticament el present.\r\n\r\nEn aquest context s\u2019inscriu la performance\u00a0<i>DOBLE ESDEVENIMENT<\/i>\u00a0(en proc\u00e9s des de 2004), concebuda no pas com una obra tancada, sin\u00f3 m\u00e9s aviat com una m\u00e0quina o un mecanisme de producci\u00f3 obert. El seu t\u00edtol fa refer\u00e8ncia a la t\u00e8cnica teatral del\u00a0<i>double event<\/i>, que descriu la coexist\u00e8ncia simult\u00e0nia de dos nivells perceptius en escena: d\u2019una banda, l\u2019esdeveniment ficcional; de l\u2019altra, el reconeixement conscient del dispositiu esc\u00e8nic. Aix\u00ed, la proposta funciona com un sistema de transfer\u00e8ncia i despla\u00e7ament, una mena de joc de les cadires, amb testimonis i miralls que desafien la noci\u00f3 d\u2019autoria i de pres\u00e8ncia unit\u00e0ria i en qu\u00e8 cos, temps i mirada entren en fricci\u00f3 constant.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<strong>J<\/strong><strong>oan Morey<\/strong>\u00a0(Mallorca, 1972) \u00e9s llicenciat en Belles Arts per la Universitat de Barcelona. Des de finals dels anys noranta, la seva pr\u00e0ctica art\u00edstica inclou performances, v\u00eddeos i instal\u00b7lacions, aix\u00ed com obres sonores i gr\u00e0fiques, per explorar la intersecci\u00f3 entre teatre, cinema, filosofia, sexualitat i subjectivitat. La seva obra es caracteritza per una profunda reflexi\u00f3 sobre l\u2019autoritat, el poder i les din\u00e0miques de domini, explotaci\u00f3 i desigualtat presents al llarg de la hist\u00f2ria de la humanitat.\r\n\r\nHa presentat performances, obres i intervencions\u00a0<i>site-specific<\/i>\u00a0en nombrosos museus, centres d\u2019art i galeries. Lejos de buscar formas conclusivas o un lenguaje un\u00edvoco, Joan Morey ha desarrollado su trabajo desde posiciones inestables y, en ocasiones, contradictorias. Far from considering it a closed statement, he used it to highlight one of the structural conditions of art: its artificial, fictional and even tricky character, but, at the same time, its capacity to convey complex forms of truth.\r\n\r\nTwenty years later, that inscription on the skin can be read as the symbolic beginning of an artistic journey based on ambiguity, plurality and openness. Far from seeking conclusive forms or a univocal language, Joan Morey has developed his work from unstable and, at times, contradictory positions. It is precisely in this oscillation where his power resides: in his ability to accommodate other voices, embody other bodies and channel demands\u2014both his own and collectively\u2014that critically question the present.\r\n\r\nThe performance\u00a0<i>DOUBLE EVENT\u00a0<\/i>(in progress since 2004) fits into this context, developed not as a finite work, but rather as a machine or an open production mechanism. Its title refers to the double event theatrical technique<i>,\u00a0<\/i>which describes the simultaneous coexistence of two perceptive levels on stage: on the one hand, the fictional event, and on the other, the conscious recognition of the stage device. The performance therefore works as a system of transference and displacement, a kind of musical chairs, with witnesses and mirrors that challenge the notion of authorship and unitary presence and where body, time and gaze come into constant friction.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<b>Joan Morey\u00a0<\/b>(Mallorca, 1972) holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. Since the late 1990s, his artistic practice has included performances, videos and installations, as well as sound and graphic works, exploring the intersection between theatre, cinema, philosophy, sexuality and subjectivity. His work is characterised by a profound reflection on authority, power and the dynamics of domination, exploitation and inequality present throughout the history of humanity.\r\n\r\nHe has presented performances, works and site-specific\u00a0interventions in many museums, art centres and galleries.
