Quin fragment, porci\u00f3 o part\u00edcula d\u2019un element segueix sent el mateix element?\r\n\r\nSi al que anomenem cosa<\/em> o element<\/em> li donem el valor d\u2019unitat (1) i ho anem fragmentant successivament (1\/xn), haurem de repetir l\u2019acci\u00f3 fins a l\u2019infinit per obtenir un resultat que tendeixi a zero, tot i que no s\u2019aconseguir\u00e0 mai exactament aquest valor. Si acordem que el valor zero implica que la cosa o l\u2019element ha transmutat a un nou estadi mat\u00e8ric, amb l\u2019opci\u00f3 de fragmentar, retallar o dividir, no es perd mai per complet la propietat de la unitat. Amb aquesta l\u00f2gica, per m\u00e9s retalls que fem d\u2019una pe\u00e7a, sempre conservaran components de la pe\u00e7a original.\r\n\r\nEl conjunt de peces, presentades aqu\u00ed com a \u201cretalls\u201d, comparteixen una apel\u00b7laci\u00f3 a all\u00f2 residual, descartat, rebutjat, banal, fragmentat, interdependent, precari, a la ru\u00efna, la desaparici\u00f3 o la nost\u00e0lgia. S\u00f3n totes conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncies intr\u00ednseques de l\u2019acte de treballar amb la mat\u00e8ria i les seves propietats. La mat\u00e8ria i l\u2019espai, el cos com a mat\u00e8ria, la mat\u00e8ria com a mem\u00f2ria, el patriarcat i el g\u00e8nere configurat com a mat\u00e8ria, la mat\u00e8ria com a activadora del desig, la mat\u00e8ria en moviment, en transici\u00f3, en descomposici\u00f3, en acci\u00f3 pol\u00edtica.\r\n\r\n<\/div>","desc_es":"

Si acordamos que el valor cero implica que la cosa o el elemento ha transmutado a un nuevo estadio mat\u00e9rico, con la opci\u00f3n de fragmentar, recortar o dividir, nunca se pierde por completo la propiedad de la unidad. Con esta l\u00f3gica, por m\u00e1s retazos que hagamos de una pieza, siempre conservar\u00e1n componentes de la pieza original.<\/span>\r\n\r\nEl conjunto de piezas, presentadas aqu\u00ed como \u201cretazos\u201d, comparten una apelaci\u00f3n a lo residual, lo descartado, lo desechado, lo banal, lo fragmentado, lo interdependiente, lo precario, la ruina, la desaparici\u00f3n o la nostalgia. Son todas ellas consecuencias intr\u00ednsecas del acto de trabajar con la materia y sus propiedades. What fragment, portion or particle of an element remains the same element?<\/span>\r\n\r\nIf we assign the value of unity (1) to what we call a thing <\/em>or element<\/em> and successively fragment it (1\/xn), we will have to repeat the action ad infinitum to get a result that tends towards zero, even though this value will forever remain out of reach. If we agree that the value of zero implies that the thing or element has transmuted into a new material state, with the option to fragment, cut or divide, the property of unity is never completely lost. From this perspective, no matter how many fragments of an original artwork we create, they will always retain constituent parts of it.<\/span>\r\n\r\nThis collection of artworks, presented here as \u2018fragments\u2019, captures what is residual and discarded. It conjures ideas of waste, banality, fragmentation, interdependence, precariousness, ruin, disappearance and nostalgia. All are intrinsic consequences of working with matter and its properties.
