En el marc de la 4a edici\u00f3 de NUBIA Labs 2026, sota l\u2019eix Computaci\u00f3 Espacial i el Poder Transversal de l\u2019Art Digital\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/strong>\r\n<\/i><\/h3>\r\nESPRONCEDA \u2013 Institute of Art & Culture<\/strong>\u00a0presenta\u00a0Spinning in Fluid Dreams<\/i>, un projecte art\u00edstic immersiu de l\u2019artista i comiss\u00e0ria ginebrenca\u00a0Nacoca Ko<\/strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0que combina\u00a0escultura f\u00edsica, entorns de realitat virtual i paisatges sonors<\/strong>\u00a0per explorar les transformacions que operen entre l\u2019aigua, l\u2019energia i el m\u00f3n digital.\r\n\r\nIniciat el 2022 per un col\u00b7lectiu d\u2019artistes i comissaris amb base a Su\u00efssa,\u00a0Spinning in Fluid Dreams<\/i>\u00a0pren com a punt de partida les\u00a0centrals hidroel\u00e8ctriques del paisatge su\u00eds<\/strong>\u00a0per interrogar els fluxos d\u2019energia que sostenen tant la vida ecol\u00f2gica com les nostres exist\u00e8ncies digitals. Al llarg del projecte, els artistes participants van instal\u00b7lar escultures en empla\u00e7aments hidroel\u00e8ctrics que van ser capturades mitjan\u00e7ant\u00a0imatges 360\u00b0 i escaneig digital 3D<\/strong>, transformant-se en mons virtuals immersius on all\u00f2 f\u00edsic i all\u00f2 digital s\u2019intersecten.\r\n\r\nAl centre del projecte hi ha un\u00a0m\u00f3n interactiu de VR<\/strong>\u00a0compost per captures en 360\u00b0 i escultures digitalitzades en 3D, instal\u00b7lades en centrals hidroel\u00e8ctriques de tota Su\u00efssa. Els visitants recorren aquests paisatges estratificats trobant aparicions escult\u00f2riques i paisatges sonors que responen al moviment. La seva orientaci\u00f3 circular reflecteix el ritme de les turbines. Un\u00a0mapa hidrol\u00f2gic de Su\u00efssa generat per dades<\/strong>\u00a0serveix de marc narratiu, reimaginant els sistemes d\u2019aigua com a models po\u00e8tics de xarxes en l\u00ednia.\r\n\r\nSpinning in Fluid Dreams<\/i>\u00a0explora com els sistemes de poder i percepci\u00f3 estan modelats per una\u00a0ontologia fluida entre natura i tecnologia, all\u00f2 anal\u00f2gic i all\u00f2 virtual, all\u00f2 hum\u00e0 i all\u00f2 no hum\u00e0<\/strong>. L\u2019aigua flueix a trav\u00e9s de les turbines per alimentar el m\u00f3n digital; els entorns virtuals repliquen o amplien els paisatges f\u00edsics; i les escultures actuen com a formes naturals i interf\u00edcies tecnol\u00f2giques alhora.\r\n\r\nEl projecte inclou un\u00a0entorn de VR amb casc<\/strong>\u00a0i un\u00a0espai immersiu accessible des del web<\/strong>, i pot presentar-se com a instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 VR aut\u00f2noma o ampliar-se amb elements f\u00edsics. Sobre l\u2019artista i els comissaris<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nNacoca Ko<\/b>\u00a0\u00e9s una artista i comiss\u00e0ria amb base a Ginebra, Su\u00efssa, que treballa a trav\u00e9s de l\u2019escultura, la imatge en moviment, la performance i els entorns virtuals<\/strong>. Compromesa amb la intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia no humana i artificial, la seva obra explora com els sistemes tecnol\u00f2gics reconfiguren la psique personal, la consci\u00e8ncia col\u00b7lectiva i el medi ambient.\r\n\r\nA trav\u00e9s de la seva pr\u00e0ctica de mons virtuals, Ko crea\u00a0entorns immersius on les realitats digital i f\u00edsica s\u2019intersecten<\/strong>. Utilitzant VR, AR i plataformes en l\u00ednia, investiga com l\u2019atenci\u00f3 i la percepci\u00f3 es transformen en aquests espais h\u00edbrids. Esculpint amb pol\u00edmers i formig\u00f3, examina els materials que els \u00e9ssers humans deixen enrere, aquells que persisteixen molt despr\u00e9s de la nostra desaparici\u00f3. A collaborative VR installation exploring water, energy and the digital world<\/i><\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

Within the framework of the 4th edition of NUBIA Labs 2026, under the theme Spatial Computing and the Transversal Power of Digital Art<\/i><\/strong><\/h3>\r\nESPRONCEDA \u2013 Institute of Art & Culture<\/strong>\u00a0presents\u00a0Spinning in Fluid Dreams<\/i>, an immersive art project by Geneva-based artist and curator\u00a0Nacoca Ko<\/strong>, combining\u00a0physical sculpture, virtual reality environments and soundscapes<\/strong>\u00a0to explore the transformations at work between water, energy and the digital world.\r\n\r\nInitiated in 2022 by a collective of Switzerland-based artists and curators,\u00a0Spinning in Fluid Dreams<\/i>\u00a0takes the\u00a0hydroelectric power stations of the Swiss landscape<\/b>\u00a0as its starting point to interrogate the flows of energy sustaining both ecological life and our increasingly digital existences. Throughout the project, participating artists installed sculptures at hydroelectric sites, captured through\u00a0360\u00b0 imaging and 3D digital scanning<\/strong>, which were then transformed into immersive virtual worlds where the physical and the digital intersect.\r\n\r\nAt the centre of the project lies an\u00a0interactive VR world<\/strong>\u00a0composed of 360\u00b0 captures and 3D-scanned sculptures installed at hydroelectric power stations across Switzerland. Visitors travel through these layered landscapes, encountering sculptural apparitions and soundscapes that respond to movement. Its circular orientation mirrors the rhythm of the turbines. A\u00a0data-generated hydrological map of Switzerland<\/strong>\u00a0serves as a navigational framework, reimagining water systems as poetic models for online networking.\r\n\r\nSpinning in Fluid Dreams<\/i>\u00a0explores how systems of power and perception are shaped by a\u00a0fluid ontology between nature and technology, the analogue and the virtual, the human and the nonhuman<\/strong>. Water flows through turbines to power the digital world; virtual environments replicate or extend physical landscapes; and sculptures act as natural forms and technological interfaces at once.\r\n\r\nThe project includes a\u00a0VR headset environment<\/strong>\u00a0and a\u00a0web-based immersive space<\/strong>, and can be presented as a standalone VR installation or extended to include physical elements. The presentation at ESPRONCEDA also incorporates\u00a0original sculptures by Nacoca Ko<\/strong>.\r\n

Artist Talk<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nOn the occasion of the opening,\u00a0Thursday 9 July at 7:00 PM<\/strong>, Nacoca Ko will offer an open conversation about the creative process behind\u00a0Spinning in Fluid Dreams<\/i>, her artistic practice and the role of the virtual in contemporary art experience. The event will take place in the exhibition space during the opening.\r\n

About the Artist and Curators<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nNacoca Ko<\/strong>\u00a0is an artist and curator based in Geneva, Switzerland, working across\u00a0sculpture, moving image, performance and virtual environments<\/strong>. Engaging with nonhuman and artificial intelligence, her work explores how technological systems reshape the personal psyche, collective consciousness and the environment.\r\n\r\nThrough her virtual worlding practice, Ko creates\u00a0immersive environments where digital and physical realities intersect<\/strong>. Using VR, AR and online platforms, she investigates how attention and perception shift within these hybrid spaces. Sculpting with polymers and concrete, she examines the materials humans leave behind \u2014 those that persist long after our disappearance. At the edge of Singularity \u2014 where prediction gives way to uncertainty \u2014 Ko turns to\u00a0ritual and mythopoetic speculation<\/strong>\u00a0as a way of grounding, positioning the human as a fragile conduit between the natural, the technological and the unknown.
