La mem\u00f2ria, doncs, no consisteix en absolut en una regressi\u00f3 del present al passat; \u00e9s en aquesta mateixa conviv\u00e8ncia, \u201caquesta conviv\u00e8ncia d\u2019un mateix amb un mateix\u201d.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">La investigaci\u00f3 i el treball creatiu de l\u2019artista algeriana Sonia Merabet \u00e9s fruit d\u2019un cicle de resid\u00e8ncies a Barcelona organitzat per Jiser, que q\u00fcestiona all\u00f2 que emmagatzemem com a mem\u00f2ria a trav\u00e9s dels nostres diferents sentits, m\u00e9s enll\u00e0 del que captem i el que retenim com imatges, ja sigui de forma espont\u00e0nia o com a resultat d\u2019un trauma, i com aquest record es pot veure alienat pels diferents contextos en qu\u00e8 vivim.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Som propietaris de la nostra mem\u00f2ria o de la seva construcci\u00f3?<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">En aquesta dualitat entre mem\u00f2ria i oblit, Sonia Merabet ha optat per centrar-se en el somni i l\u2019insomni en relaci\u00f3 amb aquesta acumulaci\u00f3 de mem\u00f2ria \u2013 una mem\u00f2ria enterrada al m\u00e9s profund de nosaltres, d\u2019un passat proper o lluny\u00e0, per\u00f2 que tamb\u00e9 hi pot ser en la forma d\u2019una her\u00e8ncia d\u2019una mem\u00f2ria col\u00b7lectiva que ressorgeix al nostre present.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">El proc\u00e9s de recerca i reflexi\u00f3 en aquesta obra s\u2019emmarca en una temporalitat en relaci\u00f3 amb la creaci\u00f3, on aquest component marcar\u00e0 el punt de partida o la primera capa de multitud d\u2019estrats que conformen la nostra experi\u00e8ncia i, per tant, la nostra mem\u00f2ria a trav\u00e9s dels nostres diferents sentits.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">L\u2019exposici\u00f3 \u00e9s comissariada per Houari Bouchenak i organitzada per Jiser, en col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 amb la galeria The Over i l\u2019hotel Pol &amp; Grace.<\/span>\r\n\r\nLa inauguraci\u00f3 comptar\u00e0 amb una intervenci\u00f3 perform\u00e0tica de Las Cosas.\r\n\r\nThe Over obre a petici\u00f3. Memory, then, does not consist at all in a regression from the present to the past; it is in this very coexistence, \u201cthis coexistence of self with self\u201d.<\/p>\r\nThe research and creative work of by Algerian artist Sonia Merabet is the fruit of a cycle of residencies in Barcelona organised by Jiser, which questions what we store as memory through our different senses, beyond what we capture and what we retain as images, whether spontaneously or as a result of trauma, and how this memory can be alienated by the different contexts in which we live.\r\n\r\nAre we masters of our memory or of its construction?\r\n\r\nIn this duality between memory and forgetting, Sonia Merabet has chosen to focus on sleep and insomnia in relation to this build-up of memory \u2013 a memory that is buried deep within us, from the near or distant past, but which may also be in the form of an inheritance from a collective memory that resurfaces in our present.\r\n\r\nThe process of research and re\ufb02ection in this work is part of a temporality in relation to creation, where this component will mark the starting point or the \ufb01rst layer of a multitude of strata that make up our experience and therefore our memory through our different senses.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nThe exhibition is curated by Houari Bouchenak.\r\n\r\nThe exhibition is organised by Jiser, in collaboration with The Over gallery and the Pol &amp; Grace Hotel.\r\n\r\nThe inauguration will include a performative intervention by Las Cosas.\r\n\r\nThe Over opens upon request.
