Andrea Soto Calder\u00f3n","desc_ca":"En aquest curs ens proposem q\u00fcestionar una hip\u00f2tesi \u00e0mpliament acceptada, almenys fins al segle xx, segons la qual pensar \u00e9s, com afirmava Kant (KrV, A69 B94), \u00abcon\u00e8ixer mitjan\u00e7ant conceptes\u00bb. Sostenim que hi ha un pensament a trav\u00e9s de les imatges, cosa que equival a dir que hi ha un tipus de comprensi\u00f3 i de relaci\u00f3 amb la realitat que s\u2019estableix en el desplegament material de les imatges. Aquesta problem\u00e0tica ens situa davant del desafiament de pensar quina \u00e9s l\u2019especificitat que les imatges aporten.\r\n\r\nEl conflicte que formalitza la imatge no \u00e9s el de fer concret un coneixement abstracte. La seva funci\u00f3 cognitiva, afectiva i sensible no opera a la manera del llenguatge proposicional, en qu\u00e8 a partir d\u2019unes premisses inicials es poden encadenar causalment esdeveniments, sin\u00f3 que desenvolupa les seves relacions per una altra l\u00f2gica d\u2019articulaci\u00f3. Aix\u00ed doncs, no nom\u00e9s cal ressemantitzar les imatges, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 assajar altres categories des de les quals descriure\u2019n les l\u00f2giques, com, per exemple, escena, ritme, gest o muntatge.\r\n\r\nL\u2019escena no \u00e9s una al\u00b7legoria que es construeix per il\u00b7lustrar una idea; l\u2019escena \u00e9s, d\u2019entrada i per principi, una trobada. Aquesta comprensi\u00f3 evita pensar les imatges com a entitats o unitats fixes; alhora que les concep com a despla\u00e7aments d\u2019escenes, en redefineix l\u2019estatut. Quan mostres quelcom, esdev\u00e9 necessari mostrar moltes coses, perqu\u00e8 el que fa imatge no \u00e9s un element o un \u00edndex que designa el tot reunit en aquesta. El que fa imatge \u00e9s el moviment que vincula, la vibraci\u00f3 en la qual emergeix una cosa diferent, que \u00e9s all\u00f2 que s\u2019est\u00e0 movent.","desc_es":"En este curso nos proponemos cuestionar una hip\u00f3tesis ampliamente aceptada, al menos hasta el siglo xx, seg\u00fan la cual pensar es, como afirmaba Kant (KrV, A69 B94), \u00abconocer mediante conceptos\u00bb. Su funci\u00f3n cognitiva, afectiva y sensible no opera al modo del lenguaje proposicional, en el que a partir de unas premisas iniciales se pueden encadenar causalmente eventos, sino que desarrolla sus relaciones por otra l\u00f3gica de articulaci\u00f3n. Es necesario, pues, no solo resemantizar las im\u00e1genes, sino ensayar otras categor\u00edas desde las cuales describir sus l\u00f3gicas, como, por ejemplo, escena, ritmo, gesto o montaje.\r\n\r\nLa escena no es una alegor\u00eda que se construya para ilustrar una idea; la escena es, de entrada y por principio, un encuentro. Esta comprensi\u00f3n evita pensar las im\u00e1genes como entidades o unidades fijas; al tiempo que las concibe como desplazamientos de escenas, redefine su estatuto. Cuando muestras algo se hace necesario mostrar muchas cosas, porque lo que hace imagen no es un elemento o un \u00edndice que designa el todo reunido en ella. Lo que hace imagen es el movimiento que vincula, la vibraci\u00f3n en la que emerge algo diferente que es lo que se est\u00e1 moviendo.","desc_en":"In this course we propose to question a hypothesis that, at least until the 20th century, was widely accepted: that thinking is, as Kant stated (KrV, A69 B94), \u201cknowing through concepts\u201d. We maintain that there is a thought through images, which is equivalent to saying that there is a type of understanding and relationship with reality that is established in the material deployment of images. This problem presents us with the challenge of considering the specificity that images provide.\r\n\r\nThe conflict arising from images is not that of making abstract knowledge concrete. The cognitive, affective and sensible function of images does not operate in the manner of propositional language, in which events can be causally connected with initial premises, but rather develops its relationships through another logic. It is therefore necessary not only to resemanticize the images but also to try out other categories for describing the logic of images, such as scene, rhythm, gesture and staging.\r\n\r\nThe scene is not an allegory that is constructed to illustrate an idea; from the outset and on principle, the scene is an encounter. This understanding allows us to avoid thinking of images as fixed entities or units and to conceive them as shifts of scenes: it redefines their status. When you show something, it becomes necessary to show many things, because what makes an image is not an element or an index that designates the whole gathered in it.
