Ara \u00e9s un honor poder mostral'i compartir l'obra de William Keo a la nostra galeria, on ser\u00e0 exposat del 6 d'abril al 6 de juliol de 2024.<\/span>\r\n\r\nWilliam Keo \u00e9s un fot\u00f2graf franco-cambodj\u00e0 resident a Par\u00eds. El seu treball se centra en hist\u00f2ries relacionades amb la seva hist\u00f2ria familiar i el seu passat de refugiats; migraci\u00f3, exclusi\u00f3 social i intoler\u00e0ncia intercomunit\u00e0ria. D'aquest projecte, l'artista ens diu:<\/span>\r\n\r\n\u201cLa ubicaci\u00f3 dels Jocs Ol\u00edmpics no \u00e9s mai una casualitat, i el 2024 tindran lloc a la regi\u00f3 m\u00e9s pobre de Fran\u00e7a, Seine-Saint-Denis, districte 93, on visc. Fa anys que documento de manera cr\u00f2nica l'estructuraci\u00f3 social i cultural d'aquest barri, on la viol\u00e8ncia social s\u2019agreuja fins al punt de ser considerat pels investigadors com \u201cL'observatori de les desigualtats\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\nL'arribada d'aquest esdeveniment ja est\u00e0 transformant la zona, i els primers indicis s\u00f3n que l'Estat intenta pacificar la regi\u00f3 traslladant poblacions immigrades a altres districtes m\u00e9s allunyats. La pobresa, les manifestacions contra la viol\u00e8ncia policial, els disturbis, la policia, el narcotr\u00e0fic, les presons, els hospitals, la immigraci\u00f3, la subcultura i la joventut, s\u00f3n els cap\u00edtols que conformen aquest projecte.<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\nAquesta selecci\u00f3 comissariada a partir del meu projecte \"Hostil\" pintar\u00e0 un retrat d'una joventut amb m\u00faltiples identitats, des d'immigrants de tercera generaci\u00f3 fins a gentrificaci\u00f3, en la vig\u00edlia d\u2019uns Jocs Ol\u00edmpics que impactaran i transformaran la zona per sempre\".<\/span><\/i>","desc_es":"Esta visita guiada es una oportunidad para conocer en profundidad el trabajo de William Keo a trav\u00e9s de la mirada de la curadora y directora de The Over, Sara Catal\u00e1n. This guided visit is an opportunity to delve into the work of William Keo through the eyes of the chief curator, Sara Catal\u00e1n. She will provide context, answer questions, and facilitate meaningful conversations about Keo's themes of interest and artistic approach.<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nBeautiful Paradox<\/a> is a curated selection from William Keo<\/a>'s personal project, documenting the complexities of daily life in his neighborhood on the outskirts of Paris. From The Over, we presented it at last year's edition of the Art Photo Barcelona Festival at Disseny Hub. Now, it is an honor to be able to showcase and share William Keo's work in our gallery, where it will be exhibited from April 6th to July 6th, 2024.\r\n

William Keo is a French-Cambodian photographer based in Paris. His work focuses on stories related to his family history and their refugee past; migration, social exclusion and inter-community intolerance. Of this project, the artist tells us:<\/span><\/h4>\r\n\u201cThe location of the Olympic Games is never a coincidence, and in 2024 they will take place in the poorest region of France, Seine-Saint-Denis, district 93, where I live. For years, I have been chronically documenting the social and cultural structuring of this neighborhood, considered by researchers to be the \u201cObservatoire of inequalities\u201d, such is the extent to which social violence is exacerbated there.<\/em>\r\n\r\nThe arrival of this event is already transforming the area, and the first signs are that the state is trying to pacify the region by moving immigrant populations to other districts further away.
