An essay on passions, with N\u00faria G\u00fcell","desc_ca":"La llista de representacions culturals occidentals al voltant de l\u2019amor i les passions seria infinita: des de la mitologia grega i les seves trag\u00e8dies, passant pel cristianisme escol\u00e0stic, l\u2019amor cort\u00e8s, l\u2019edat d\u2019or, el romanticisme del segle XVIII i part del XIX, fins a les expressivitats culturals m\u00e9s populars o alternatives del nostre temps, hi ha testimonis dels danys causats per alguna idea d\u2019amor.\r\n\r\nEn l\u2019\u00e0mbit del real, continuem patint per culpa de creients que exterminen l\u2019altre en nom de l\u2019amor a un D\u00e9u; de tots els nacionalistes que segueixen llan\u00e7ant-se en la destrucci\u00f3 m\u00fatua per amor a alguna p\u00e0tria o naci\u00f3; adolescents que interpreten trets gelosos com a signes de l\u2019amor vertader; la mare que mata els seus fills perqu\u00e8 no pateixin; revolucionaris que donen la seva vida o la prenen per amor a alguna idea de revoluci\u00f3 social; o l\u2019amant que decideix matar el seu estimat (o viceversa) al adonar-se que est\u00e0 perdent el seu amor.\r\n\r\nQuina \u00e9s la responsabilitat de la cultura en tots aquests paradoxes? Quantes situacions dram\u00e0ticament preestablertes hem viscut a les nostres hist\u00f2ries d\u2019amor? Quins plaers o fantasmes s\u2019amaguen darrere de la m\u00e0scara de les creences que envolten l\u2019ideal de l\u2019amor? Podria ser que la causa principal dels conflictes socials no sigui l\u2019odi, sin\u00f3 un exc\u00e9s d\u2019amor cegament passional? Quins efectes tindria la desidealitzaci\u00f3 de l\u2019amor en l\u2019ordre social? How many dramatically pre-established situations have we experienced in our love stories? What pleasures or ghosts are hidden behind the mask of beliefs surrounding the ideal of love? Could it be that the main cause of social conflicts is not hatred, but an excess of blindly passionate love? What effects would the de-idealization of love have on the social order?
