El t\u00edtol de l'exposici\u00f3 prov\u00e9 del llibre In Search of the Miraculous: Fragments of an Unknown Teaching<\/em> del fil\u00f2sof rus P. D. Ouspensky, publicat el 1949. El llibre relata la seva trobada i posterior relaci\u00f3 amb George Gurdjieff i els ensenyaments esot\u00e8rics que va rebre. Al llarg de la creaci\u00f3 d\u2019aquest cos de treball, he estat llegint i practicant les profundes lli\u00e7ons contingudes en ell. Un dels ensenyaments centrals de Gurdjieff gira al voltant del proc\u00e9s alqu\u00edmic de connectar el cos amb energies superiors. Aquestes pintures han sorgit de la meva pr\u00e0ctica di\u00e0ria de meditaci\u00f3 i autorecord\u2014aquesta pr\u00e0ctica \u00e9s de vegades desafiant, per\u00f2 en altres moments rica i profunda. El fons de cada pintura es construeix lentament, a trav\u00e9s de m\u00faltiples capes de pintura a l\u2019oli transparent, creant una superf\u00edcie que se sent vibrant i viva. Les pinzellades s\u2019apliquen r\u00edtmicament\u2014primer verticalment, despr\u00e9s horitzontalment, i una altra vegada verticalment. El proc\u00e9s \u00e9s meditatiu i contemplatiu. En contrast, les grans pinzellades a la superf\u00edcie sorgeixen d\u2019un proc\u00e9s molt diferent. Utilitzo un dels pinzells de gran mida que fabrico jo mateix, fet amb p\u00e8l natural i unit a m\u00e0necs llargs semblants als d\u2019una escombra. Tot i que aquestes marques es fan amb rapidesa, neixen d\u2019una quietud profunda. Abans de cada pinzellada, medito durant almenys 30 minuts, sovint m\u00e9s temps. At times, the experience has felt truly miraculous.\r\n\r\nOne of Gurdjieff\u2019s central teachings revolves around the alchemical process of connecting the body with higher energies. These paintings have emerged from my daily practice of meditation and self-remembering\u2014a practice that is sometimes challenging, yet at other times rich and profound. Often, during meditation or moments of self-awareness, I perceive a pulsating energy emanating both from within and around me.\r\n\r\nThe background of each painting is built up slowly, through multiple layers of transparent oil paint, creating a surface that feels vibrant and alive. Brushstrokes are applied rhythmically\u2014first vertically, then horizontally, and once again vertically. The process is meditative and contemplative. In contrast, the large brushstrokes on the surface arise from a very different process. I use one of the oversized brushes I craft myself, made from natural hair and attached to long broom-like handles. While these marks are made swiftly, they stem from deep stillness. Before each brushstroke, I meditate for at least 30 minutes, often longer. I wait for the energy to \"arrive,\" and the moment it does, I act swiftly, without thought.
