Anades i vingudes, arribades i perman\u00e8ncies, trobades, per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 delimitacions, transgressions i talls abruptes. Vam imaginar l\u2019espai entre dos llocs com un llindar ple de l\u00ednies, una coreografia que modela el territori. Ens vam adonar que els llocs es defineixen per gestos. Tanmateix, no tots els espais que produeixen els nostres cossos estan documentats. Com recon\u00e8ixer, doncs, la pertinen\u00e7a a un lloc que queda fora de les institucionalitats que anomenen el m\u00f3n i les formes d\u2019habitar-lo? I l\u2019oest no existia \u00e9s un intent de narrar aquests espais intermedis que transitem.\r\n\r\nPer fer-ho, el col\u00b7lectiu Al\u2019Akhawat desplega la cr\u00f2nica d\u2019un viatge imaginari per llocs reals, sense nom, coneguts per\u00f2 irreconeixibles. A trav\u00e9s de la reproducci\u00f3 de tr\u00e0mits, documents i artefactes que ens acompanyen en els nostres despla\u00e7aments, el col\u00b7lectiu busca materialitzar alguns dels gestos indocumentats que reconeixen l\u2019exist\u00e8ncia en i d\u2019un espai-llindar. La pe\u00e7a principal de la mostra \u00e9s una tela que es desplega de manera cont\u00ednua per l\u2019espai, creant un itinerari tridimensional. La superf\u00edcie t\u00e8xtil est\u00e0 intervinguda amb fotografies, textos, dibuixos i brodats, constituint una mena de pintura de paisatge que proposa altres maneres de mirar el m\u00f3n. El retor, material utilitzat per confeccionar mostres de peces de roba, evoca el car\u00e0cter experimental i processual d\u2019aquest viatge, aix\u00ed com la corporalitat present en qualsevol relat espacial. Al costat de la tela, diversos elements com fotografies, mapes o postals es distribueixen per l\u2019espai.\r\n\r\nAquesta col\u00b7lecci\u00f3 de peces s\u2019articula a partir de la reflexi\u00f3 individual dels membres del col\u00b7lectiu al voltant de la mem\u00f2ria material de les seves fam\u00edlies i les geografies superposades a les quals pertanyen. Alhora, aquests souvenirs funcionen com un contrarelat davant dels imaginaris espacials generats per certs despla\u00e7aments que, sovint, ignoren altres formes de mobilitat igualment fonamentals en la configuraci\u00f3 del m\u00f3n.","desc_es":"Trazamos la ruta sobre un mapa y descubrimos que el lugar que busc\u00e1bamos no aparec\u00eda en ning\u00fan sitio. Y el oeste no exist\u00eda es un intento de narrar esos espacios intermedios que transitamos.\r\n\r\nPara ello, el colectivo Al\u2019Akhawat despliega la cr\u00f3nica de un viaje imaginario por lugares reales, sin nombre, conocidos pero irreconocibles. A trav\u00e9s de la reproducci\u00f3n de tr\u00e1mites, documentos y artefactos que nos acompa\u00f1an en nuestros desplazamientos, el colectivo busca materializar algunos de los gestos indocumentados que reconocen la existencia en y de un espacio-umbral. La pieza principal de la muestra es una tela que se despliega de forma continua por el espacio, creando un itinerario tridimensional. La superficie textil est\u00e1 intervenida con fotograf\u00edas, textos, dibujos y bordados, constituyendo una suerte de pintura de paisaje que propone otras maneras de mirar el mundo. El retor, material utilizado para confeccionar muestras de prendas, evoca el car\u00e1cter experimental y procesual de este viaje, pero tambi\u00e9n la corporalidad presente en cualquier relato espacial. Junto a la tela, diversos elementos como fotograf\u00edas, mapas o postales se distribuyen en el espacio.\r\n\r\nEsta colecci\u00f3n de piezas se articula a partir de la reflexi\u00f3n individual de los miembros del colectivo en torno a la memoria material de sus familias y las geograf\u00edas superpuestas a las que pertenecen. Al mismo tiempo, estos souvenirs funcionan como un contrarrelato frente a los imaginarios espaciales generados por ciertos desplazamientos que, con frecuencia, ignoran otras formas de movilidad igualmente fundamentales en la configuraci\u00f3n del mundo.","desc_en":"We traced the route on a map and discovered that the place we were looking for did not appear anywhere. Departures and returns, arrivals and stays, encounters, but also delimitations, transgressions, and abrupt cuts. We imagined the space between two places as a threshold filled with lines, a choreography that shapes the territory. We realized that places are defined by gestures. However, not all the spaces produced by our bodies are documented. How, then, can one recognize belonging to a place that remains outside the institutions that name the world and the ways of inhabiting it? And the West Did Not Exist is an attempt to narrate those intermediate spaces we move through.\r\n\r\nTo do so, the collective Al\u2019Akhawat unfolds the chronicle of an imaginary journey through real places\u2014nameless, familiar yet unrecognizable. Through the reproduction of procedures, documents, and artefacts that accompany our movements, the collective seeks to materialize some of the undocumented gestures that acknowledge the existence within and of a threshold-space. The central piece of the exhibition is a fabric that unfolds continuously through the space, creating a three-dimensional itinerary. The textile surface is intervened with photographs, texts, drawings, and embroidery, forming a kind of landscape painting that proposes other ways of looking at the world. Retor, a material used to make garment prototypes, evokes the experimental and processual character of this journey, as well as the corporeality present in any spatial narrative. Alongside the fabric, various elements such as photographs, maps, and postcards are distributed throughout the space.\r\n\r\nThis collection of pieces is articulated through the individual reflections of the collective members on the material memory of their families and the overlapping geographies to which they belong.
