Sota el t\u00edtol <em>Almas de Ogg\u00fan<\/em>, permet aproximar-se a una faceta menys coneguda de la seva obra i aprofundir en alguns dels motius i s\u00edmbols que travessen el seu univers creatiu.\r\n\r\nLes escultures neixen directament del dibuix i de la voluntat de traslladar la l\u00ednia a l\u2019espai. Per a Carlos Franco, la difer\u00e8ncia entre dibuixar sobre paper, sobre tela o sobre qualsevol altre suport mai no ha estat determinant. El dibuix constitueix una forma de pensament i una eina de construcci\u00f3 d\u2019imatges que recorre tota la seva traject\u00f2ria.\r\n\r\nEl t\u00edtol de l\u2019exposici\u00f3, <em>Almas de Ogg\u00fan<\/em>, remet a l\u2019univers de la mitologia ioruba i, concretament, a Ogg\u00fan, un dels orix\u00e0s guerrers, vinculat al ferro, al treball i a la transformaci\u00f3 de la mat\u00e8ria. En el context de la religi\u00f3 ioruba, la seva \u00e0nima al\u00b7ludeix a l\u2019ess\u00e8ncia espiritual, la for\u00e7a vital i els fonaments m\u00edstics d\u2019aquesta figura, associada a l\u2019energia indomable del treball constant.\r\n\r\nLa concepci\u00f3 de l\u2019escultura com a prolongaci\u00f3 del dibuix troba la seva correspond\u00e8ncia en la pintura de l\u2019artista, tamb\u00e9 present en aquesta exposici\u00f3 i caracteritzada per l\u2019exploraci\u00f3 de l\u2019inconscient individual i dels s\u00edmbols de l\u2019inconscient col\u00b7lectiu. La seva recurr\u00e8ncia al classicisme, als motius mitol\u00f2gics i a la transculturalitat respon a una recerca d\u2019arrels i de necessitats compartides que subjauen al comportament hum\u00e0.
