Autodidacte, Cools ha desenvolupat una pr\u00e0ctica pict\u00f2rica guiada pel color i per una aproximaci\u00f3 intu\u00eftiva a l\u2019acte de pintar, en qu\u00e8 el mateix proc\u00e9s esdev\u00e9 una manera d\u2019explorar i descobrir.\r\n\r\nA trav\u00e9s de la t\u00e8cnica soak-stain, Cools aplica acr\u00edlics molt dilu\u00efts directament sobre la tela, sense imprimaci\u00f3, permetent que el pigment penetri en el teixit i que els colors s\u2019expandeixin i es fusionin. Barreja els colors directament sobre la tela i respon al que hi va sorgint, sense partir d\u2019una composici\u00f3 predeterminada. Les composicions evolucionen al llarg d\u2019aquest proc\u00e9s, en qu\u00e8 el carbonet, les marques irregulars i les pinzellades introdueixen nous gestos i donen estructura a formes que han anat apareixent gaireb\u00e9 inconscientment.\r\n\r\nEl t\u00edtol <em>Sinu\u00f3s<\/em> evoca aquesta manera d\u2019avan\u00e7ar sense un rumb fix, tant en el moviment de la pintura sobre la tela com en el proc\u00e9s de descoberta de l\u2019artista. Following the success of his presentation at Palau de Casavells this summer, Cools now presents a new body of work at the gallery\u2019s Barcelona Tur\u00f3 space. Self-taught, Cools has developed a painting practice guided by colour and an intuitive approach to the act of painting, in which the process itself becomes a way of exploring and discovering.\r\n\r\nWorking with the soak-stain technique, Cools applies heavily diluted acrylics directly onto raw, unprimed canvas, allowing the pigment to soak into the fabric and colours to spread and merge. He mixes colours directly on the canvas, responding to what emerges rather than following a predetermined composition. The paintings evolve through this process of making, with charcoal, dappled marks and strokes introducing new gestures and giving structure to forms that have taken shape almost unconsciously.\r\n\r\nThe title <em>Sinu\u00f3s<\/em> evokes this sense of wandering, both in the movement of the paint across the canvas and in the artist\u2019s own process of discovery.
