Anoxia, Coral Naumachia

The impregnable Fortí de Sant Jordi will host an opera performance on Saturday evening: artist Fito Conesa, winner of the 9th edition of the Videocreation Award, presents a choral adaptation of the piece ‘Anoxia. A constant prelude’, with mezzo-soprano Claudia Schneider and a choir composed of Erikson, Erika Michi and Siddharth Singh.

‘Anoxia. Naumaquia coral’ invites us to rethink, question and reposition our relationship with the Mediterranean and the climate crisis it is undergoing. This crisis adds to the multiple layers that have turned this ‘sea of ours’ into an exploited lagoon that is far removed from its romantic image. A ritual song for change that will reverberate from the Fortí in a unique and unrepeatable event in the form of a ‘boiler room opera’, if we dare to call it that.

The activity requires prior registration!

‘Anoxia. A constant prelude’ is the winning project of the 9th edition of the Video Creation Award, a co-production between the Territorial Centres of the Public Visual Arts System of Catalonia, Arts Santa Mònica, the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia and LOOP Barcelona.
