Tuesday of video / La pedra de Salomó

After the screening of La pedra de Salomó ( 2015), an adaptation of the story ‘Blue Light’ by Hussein Barghouty, we will talk with its director and actor, Ramzi Maqdisi, about the use of history and its manipulation in the colonisation of Palestine, and also about the use of irony and absurdity in Palestinian fiction, whether cinematographic or literary, through the story of Hussein, a young Palestinian who receives a notification from the Israeli post office, informing him that he has a parcel that he has to collect in person. Before picking up the package, however, he has to pay 20,000 US dollars without knowing what it contains. The young man’s curiosity leads him to sell all his belongings, despite his mother’s misgivings.
