Ocells al Cap (“Birds in the Head”) explores the possibilities of extrasensory communication. We were waiting for you is an Oracle, a work where the artists will answer questions from the audience through improvisations and automatic writing.
The members of the group will do a preparation process the days before the performance behind closed doors. On the 23rd, with an audience, all the participating artists will be present in the space at the same time. Before the performance, each artist in the group selects six objects to carry in a suitcase. They do not communicate with each other what they are carrying.
The Oracle
They start the performance by inviting the audience to participate in a singing breathing exercise. By vocalising the ‘six healing sounds’, the vibration is felt in the body and puts us on the same frequency.
The audience is offered the possibility to participate in a performance; the interaction takes place of their own free will and without coercion. We ask if anyone wants to ask a question to the group; it can be personal, universal or very specific. The questioner writes his or her question on a piece of paper that is hidden, so as not to be seen by the performers. The questioner sends the question by telepathy to the performers.
The questioner sits at a table with a paper and pen to take notes with an artist from the group next to them who will also write. They have to write down on paper everything they see, without thinking too much, just responding to what comes to them from the performance unfolding in the room. It is a style of writing whose immediacy resembles automatic writing and stream-of-consciousness.
