Can Lejárraga (Cantabria, 1998) is an artist, illustrator and graphic designer. Their practice focuses mainly in painting and drawing, as well as the creation and distribution of printed matter of any kind, be it books, catalogues or zines. They work with drawing as the foundation of their practice, using it as a way of language to communicate with the spectator. In their work Lejarraga explores the relationship between the body with its environment, either as a perfect anatomical machine or a spiritual vessel. They studied at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2016-2019, Madrid, ES) and graduated with a BA in Graphic Design from ArtEZ Hoggeschool vor den Kunsten, (2019-2021, Arnhem, NL). They have continued their artistic and educational development in the CASYC Crea art residency (2021-2022, Santander, ES) and the autonomous study program Praxis (2022, Santander, ES). As an artist, they have participated in collective exhibitions such as KIOSKO 004 (2024, Mayrit Biennal, ACME Estudio, Madrid, ES), Corvo II (2023, Santander, ES), Dórico, Jónico, Corintio. (2022, CASYC, Santander, ES), El cuerpo de la montaña (2022, Centro de Estudios Lebaniegos, Potes, ES), International Biennial of Graphic Design (2021, Chaumont, FR), What Is Present (2021, Arnhem, NL), DEMO Festival (2021, Amsterdam Centraal, Amsterdam, NL) and Storytelling For Earthly Survival (2019, Arnhem, NL) among others. As a graphic designer they have participated in fairs such as Medipan (2025, Casa de Porras, Granada, ES), Ghent Art Book Fair (2025, Kunsthal Ghent, Ghent, BE), Fanzimad (2025 and 2024, Biblioteca Pública de Iván de Vargas, Madrid, ES), GRAF (2025, Fabra i Coats, Barcelona, ES), Recreo Art Book Fair (2024, IVAM, Valencia, ES), Libros Mutantes (2024, La Casa Encendida, Madrid, ES), Autozine (2024, Madrid, ES) and Shake Bristol XL (2023, Bristol, UK) among others.
