El calor de otros soles
El calor de otros soles is a group exhibition whose title borrows from Isabel Wilkerson’s book The Warmth of Other Suns, itself inspired by a verse by Richard Wright, reflecting departures, migrations, and the ways in which identity is reconfigured in transit. The show brings together four young artists working with photography —Silvana Trevale, Fabiola Ferrero, Daniel Santolo, and Marisol Mendez— all Latin American-born but now based in Barcelona or Paris. Through their practices, each artist explores the construction of identity through a migrated experience, shaped by geographical displacement and the shifting cultural context between Latin America and Europe. We are particularly interested in how their work addresses the relationship between memory, belonging, and transformation, and how the search for origin is reformulated through new conditions of light, territory, and lived experience. In this sense, the exhibition proposes thinking of that “other sun” not only as a metaphor, but also as a physical and sensitive reality: a new light that falls on bodies, landscapes, and ways of seeing.
