Im Never Saying Goodbye
Eric Stefanski (1987, Chicago) is an artist whose practice centers on the highs and lows of sustaining a contemporary art career, marked by sincerity, humor, and a constant reflection on failure.
He studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and holds an MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. His work combines large-scale abstraction with text, addressing both his personal history and broader themes of contemporary society and Art History.
Stefanski states: “I believe the work always relates back to the highs and lows that come with holding a contemporary studio practice, striving for the goal that my work will outlive me.” His creative process —obsessive yet deeply rewarding— becomes a space of connection with the viewer: “It becomes even more fulfilling when people can view the work through the context of their own lives.” He even finds meaning in moments of doubt: “I remind myself that everything will be okay, and it always gets better.”
His work, rich in vulnerability, authenticity, and critical insight, serves as an introspective mirror that invites exploration of both the personal and the collective.
