In the exhibition (in-)sight, (in-)place, Robert Bergmann and Maximilian Seegert delve into the pervasive impact of images—be it from Google images, films, social media, or books—on our perception of landscapes. Their work examines how these countless representations create a feeling of both immersion and detachment, prompting us to question the nature of our connection to the environment. The exhibition suggests that our interaction with images forms a labyrinthine network where each element mirrors another, creating a recursive tapestry in which every stone, every tree or every building is a template for another. A version of a version of a version.

Robert Bergmann lives and works in Vienna. In 2023 he graduated with a Master of Fine arts from the HFBK Hamburg. He works as an artist and curator. He is currently working at Kunstverein Gartenhaus in Vienna. Since 2024, he is organizing the screening project Twentysix. Artistic works were recently shown at the Gruppe Motto Galerie, Hamburg, saasfee*pavillon Frankfurt a.M., 2023, in the rooms of Kunst im Quartier Hamburg, 2023, and Kunsthaus Graz, 2022. Robert Bergmann’s last curatorial projects were the group exhibitions “Seating Arrangement”, UA26, Vienna, 2024, “ROOM 205”, Hotel Beethoven, Vienna, 2022 and “Of Second Glances”, Magma Maria, Offenbach am Main, 2022.

Maximilian Seegert studied fine arts in Hamburg, Marseille and Paris. Some recent exhibitions include “All Surfaces Clean At All Times” as part of the Klima Biennale in Vienna, „What stories make worlds“ at saasfee pavillon in Frankfurt, “Edge Effects” at Kunsthaus Graz and “une porte se ferme, une autre s’ouvre” in Marseille.
