THE COLLECTOR IS PRESENT - Iñaki Bonillas in Álvaro López de Lamadrid’s collection
Coinciding with the opening of ‘Juegos Conceptuales’ by Iñaki Bonillas at the gallery, two works by the artist are shown separately: ‘Secrets: Men I Love’, which is part of Álvaro López de Lamadrid’s collection, and a new piece he will have made in connection with the first artwork and the current exhibition.
‘Secrets: Men I Love’ was presented in the exhibition ‘SECRETS’, an audiovisual essay by Iñaki Bonillas on the idea of secrecy for the Casa Luis Barragán in Mexico City (2016).
The work was exhibited ‘hidden’ in the wardrobe of the master bedroom on the first floor of the house. The piece is an appropriation of Giulio Paolini’s ‘Antología’ (1974). It consists of a frame and various postcards of some of the male figures who influenced Barragán, such as Mathias Goeritz, Chucho Reyes, Edmundo O’Gorman, Marcel Proust, Valle Inclán, Oscar Wilde, Giorgio de Chirico, Pablo Picasso, etc. The title is taken from the work of the artist Dora García, ‘Men I love’ (2010).
Exhibition opening hours:
Thursday 8 and Friday 9.05, 11 am — 7 pm
Saturday 10.05, 10 am — 2 pm
