The End of an Era? On the Current Inflexion of the Neighbourhood Movement
The success of Barcelona’s urban planning and development during the period of the 1992 Olympic Games was characterised by productive dialogue between the neighbourhood movement and the municipal government. In this present time, with the classic neighbourhood movement losing ground in the face of new forms of social activism that stem from the social movements that emerged at the turn of the century, the question arises as to the future evolution of Barcelona’s urbanism.
With Marc Andreu, historian and journalist; Alberto Recio, PhD in Economics and Elia Herranz, journalits and member of the FAVB (Federation of Neighbourhood Associations of Barcelona) technical team.
