Martín López Lam. Aquestes no són les fruites de la teva passió

The exhibition brings together a series of screen prints and small drawings made by Martín López Lam over the past year. The works presented draw on plant representations found in pre-Columbian cultures and in Spanish scientific illustrations from the 18th century. The convergence of these two perspectives on the same subject over time invites us to reflect on our relationship with plants and the ways in which we use them.

The four screen prints presented depict cherimoya, maize, cocoa and peanut—fruits of American origin that, to varying degrees, have gradually become part of everyday European cuisine. The more abstract drawings serve as companions to these works.
