Mis Alegrías. Daniel Rosado

Mis alegrías is a collection of disposable choreographic ideas, games, notes, dialogues and habits that I interact with on a daily basis in the rehearsal room, but which don’t tend to get shown because they’re in formats that aren’t easily produced. Mis alegrías is a space in which to accept those indomitable bodies that make the artist’s gaze genuine. It’s presented as a set of organised dances that draw inspiration from folk elements, allowing them to be inhabited from a non-normative place; set in a framework that encourages subtle provocation, which could potentially hurt the sensitivity of the very orthodox. And it’s based in a commitment to choreographic craftmanship, its practice, its doing and its use. Carefully, responsibly and with due knowledge of cause.
