We want to stop and see what is happening. Experience the hours as they happen while being beside a public bench; an urban landscape which forms an intrinsic part of our everyday lives. A landscape which we have almost lost the ability of enjoying. What is happening around a public bench throughout the day? What if we were to decide to stay in one place and experience it? Doing nothing is a political response, questioning the anxiety to which we are led by the productive model of an implacable society. To reflect upon these issues, we invite you to join us on Saturday, July 19th, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., at one of the benches in the centre of the Parc Balmes in Vic. No prior registration required, just come at any time and for as long as you want. Come and spend the day beside a bench with us! You’ll see that more things will happen than you imagine!
Deriva Mussol is an artistic collective and cultural association based in Vic, active since 2012, formed by Eva Marichalar-Freixa, Jordi Lafon, Montsita Rierola, and Sebastià Masramon. From their respective careers in visual arts, performing arts, and education, an interest in walking and drifting emerged as ways of exploring possibilities for creation and learning in contemporary contexts. We like to generate actions and share open, permeable, and moving spaces. As members of the Projecte Viver d’ACVIC Centre d’Arts Contemporànies we develop projects of artistic investigation and community participation, with a clear educational and territorial vocation.
