Uncertain Landscapes
It is an honor for ProjecteSD to present Uncertain Landscapes, a group show that brings together works by Patricia Dauder and two artists, Beaux Mendes and Seher Shah, whose work we are happy to introduce in Spain with this exhibition. Three artistic practices specific to each author, that, with their differences and singularities, seem to share a reflection that explores the experience of time, perception, transformation processes and memory. Three distinct ways of working in which materiality and long work processes are essential. Artistic manifestations that do not avoid the interest in tracing affective moments that often leave almost imperceptible marks in their works. In the three artists, looking at the natural environment is necessary to build these “landscapes” understood as ambiguous, heterodox, transitory, sometimes dark territories, in which absences are more important than presences, where the fragment predominates over the totality. Where what is eroded, evanescent, is placed, in a paradoxically eloquent way, before what is fully visible and easily apprehensible. An uncertain landscape of multivalent spaces, which guide and misguide, speak and remain silent.
