THE COLLECTOR IS PRESENT - Rafael Doctor Roncero: two personal models for collecting

An display of copies of ‘Los Doscientos’ and other pieces from Rafael Doctor Roncero’s private collection will lead to a conversation about two different ways of building a collection that share passion as their main driving force. The renowned curator, collector, cultural manager, artist and critic, in conversation with José Luis Pérez Pont, will delve into his particular vision of collecting.

Collecting as a creative act: Rafael Doctor’s collection is one of the most important in Spain. It brings together more than 60,000 photographs ranging from anonymous historical authors to great masters such as Nadar, Le Gray and Clifford, as well as contemporary artists such as Pipilotti Rist, Bernard Plossu and Cristina García Rodero.

Los Doscientos, an inclusive collecting: a publishing project promoted by Doctor which, since 2014, democratises access to art through limited editions of books with original works, created for a community of 200 members.
