‘Rituals and stories of eternal seeds’ - Activity with Natalia Carminati
9 November / 11 am-1,30pm
Collserola Library – Josep Miracle
Free activity open to the public
On 9 November at 11 a.m. the artist Natalia Carminati proposes a practical session open to the public to participate in the project ‘Rituals and stories of eternal seeds’, which she is developing as a resident at the Collserola – Josep Miracle Library.
Natalia Carminati’s project is situated at the intersection between agriculture, gastronomy, oral/written storytelling and contemporary art. In her residency she has proposed a series of participatory activities in which the seed is put into play as a central element in the framework of a series of stories and rituals from different cultures. All these activities have been carried out with different communities or people related to the library and/or the neighbourhoods of Collserola.
In this last meeting, open to everyone, we will bring to the table several exercises of speculative fiction related to the action of sowing. Guided by intuition and imagination, listening to the whispers of legends that have not been told, describing the movements of uncelebrated rituals, to augur a fertile sowing and an abundant harvest. We are waiting for you!
This project is the result of a collaboration between Homesession and Bibliotecas de Barcelona. Every year, in the framework of the Ex-Libris programme, we select an artist to develop an artistic residency in one of Barcelona’s public libraries with the aim of approaching the library as a space for contemporary creation and the activation of community processes.
In collaboration with Biblioteques de Barcelona.
