Tàpies. An Effort in Remembering

This talk on the career and person of Antoni Tàpies, held as part of the centenary of his birth, will take a closer look at seven works that may not have enjoyed the widespread critical attention received by others that are considered essential, but which allow us to get closer to an extraordinary painter from unforeseeable angles.

The talk will also reconstruct some personal moments experienced with Tàpies in 2003, when Valentín Roma, together with David Fernández de Castro, wrote the script for the documentary Alfabeto Tàpies (Tàpies Alphabet, 2004), directed by Daniel Hernández. That experience allowed Valentín Roma to travel alongside Antoni Tàpies for more than a year, albeit intermittently, to some places that were significant for the artist.
