Flying and Drawing
The Centre d’Art La Capella, Diàlegs de Dona and KN60Lab are working together to transform La Capella into a vast carpet during the Barcelona Draws weekend.
We invite you to join us on Saturday afternoon to draw a carpet between us – young and old and everyone in between – using our imaginations, emotions and feelings amid laughter, uncertainties and scribbles. And as the carpet has two sides, on the back we will be able to write in our first language or an invented one.
On Sunday the 20th, we will be continue drawing and activating the carpet with a picnic at 11.00 am, poetry by Fatima Saheb at 12.00 midday and violin with Andrea Duca at 1.00 pm. Participants will be able to talk about their drawings and writings and we will all take flight!
Tere Recarens lives and works in Berlin. Her interdisciplinary and ‘inter-active’ works feature drawing, writing, photography, video and installation art, as well as an accessible language that uses humour. Recarens immerses herself in cultures and languages she is unfamiliar with – Mali, Kurdistan and Iran – to create artworks that she invites the populace and spectators to participate in, thereby returning them to the community. Her work is enriched by constant encounters, studies and questioning, forging new connections and generating new meanings. Fun, anger and other emotional expressions are fundamental in her pieces.
