NOMEVOY

NOMEVOY is a clandestine vehicle for contemporary art. A space that moves, transforms, and slips through the cracks of the art system—challenging the market and making the peripheries visible. Its very enunciation calls for a transgression of hegemonic spaces, unsettling identities in transit.

Emerging as a continuation of GRANADOS26 (2010–2017) in Mexico City—an independent, self-managed space that hosted exhibitions, publications, theater projects and festivals—NOMEVOY continues its path as a migratory space in Barcelona. It appears amid the burning fires of the Catalan independence movement, as an insurgent proposal that seeks to reinvent how contemporary art is exhibited, thought, and inhabited.

We are driven by a deep suspicion: that contemporary art has become too comfortable, predictable, domesticated. That’s why we embrace discomfort as a method, hospitality as a radical gesture, and collectivity as a form of resistance. We believe in exchange, dissent, and the kind of learning that emerges from responsive, inclusive, and experimental artistic practices.
