Carles Congost, A Finger of Ice (Portrait of the Crepuscular Artist in El Port de la Selva), Vestiges of Summer Series 2026

The programme brings together projects by Carles Congost and Jordi Mitjà, combining research, performativity and moving image.

Carles Congost’s film project, Un dit de gel (Portrait of the Twilight Artist in Port de la Selva), employs a poetic and fragmentary visual language to explore questions of identity, youth imaginaries and forms of summer socialisation in Port de la Selva. Inspired by the song of the same title created by the artist in 2017, the project transforms his emotional references into cinematic scenes in which small groups of young people interact in significant coastal locations. The film offers a profound reflection on the experience of place while addressing themes of transformation, fragility and the passage of time. Un dit de gel is an ARBAR project co-produced with Bòlit Contemporary Art Centre.
