Amparo Tormo

The artist brings together industrial materials in her sculptures, some of them long established within the language of sculpture, such as iron and steel, and others of a more ordinary nature, including MDF panels and stainless-steel surfaces, to reveal the interior of objects to the viewer. By duplicating planes, reversing spatial orders, and filling voids through the illusion created by reflective surfaces, she creates optical and perceptual illusions. In this way, the totems, wall pieces, and corner sculptures function as devices that guide the viewer through a sequence of reflections and opacities, suspending the distinction between interior and exterior.
