Antifascism in Palestine before Nakba

Antifascism in Palestine before Nakba

A workshop on anti-fascism in Palestine before 1948 with the authors of Moros contra Franco.

Delve into a little-known chapter of Palestinian history with Andreu Rosés and Marc Almodóvar, authors of the seminal book Moros contra Franco. This intensive three-hour workshop, led by this historian–journalist duo, offers an in-depth analysis of anti-fascism in Palestine during the period prior to the 1948 Nakba.

Drawing on rigorous historical analysis and specialised journalistic research on the Arab world, the session will examine the networks, ideologies, and forms of resistance that emerged in opposition to the growing fascist and colonial dynamics in the region.

Andreu Rosés, historian, and Marc Almodóvar, journalist and documentary filmmaker with extensive experience as a correspondent, will guide participants through sources and narratives that challenge conventional readings of history. This is a unique opportunity to understand the complexity of the Palestinian political landscape of those years and to uncover its historical connections with global anti-fascist movements.
