Cal un poble per mantenir el foc viu is a participatory performance that takes collective cooking as a space for connection, hospitality and community-building. Gathered around a large communal pot, participants contribute ingredients to prepare a soup without a pre-established recipe. Its composition emerges from shared decisions, gestures and knowledge, through an open process based on improvisation, negotiation and mutual listening.

Present in virtually every culinary tradition, soup becomes a metaphor for a community capable of welcoming difference without dissolving it. Cooking and sharing food also means bringing into circulation memories, knowledge and experiences shaped by bodies, migration and care, extending beyond cultural and political borders. Rooted in the traditions of action art and the happening, the work shifts the artwork away from representation and towards shared experience, reclaiming hospitality as an aesthetic and activist practice that challenges established forms of belonging and participation within cultural institutions.

Auri Alós (El Prat de Llobregat, 2000) is an art historian specialising in live arts and new media, an artistic researcher, cultural educator and doctoral candidate in contemporary art theory. Her practice moves between curating, performance and research through conceptual and relational projects that explore new forms of institutionality, the democratisation of cultural production and the revival of communal ritual. Her work brings ancestral practices into dialogue with digital culture and connects ephemeral practices and body-based art with local communities. She currently designs and coordinates education and mediation programmes for Antic Teatre, Xarxaprod, Club9 and Festival Panoràmic.
