E+A CYCLE Edicions Arbar: Isabel Banal Xifré "Going to seaside"

The book deals with the links we establish with a territory and the experiences lived, in this case with the area between Llançà and El Port de la Selva.

It is based on the expression “anar a marina” (which means to go to the beach, to spend the summer) and at the same time from the idea of “painting seascape”

It is crossed by images from the artist’s family album, current photographs of the area, literature —also as representations of the seascape—. There are other common threads: the figures of the nativity scene and the presence of stones and rocks. Elements that are constant in the work/work of Isabel Banal.
