Cinema sense càmera - Iniciació al cinema tàctil

Appropriation, intervention and distortion in 16 mm

This intensive workshop is an introduction to different techniques for manually intervening on film stock — animation, adding to and removing from the emulsion — through the treatment of 16 mm found footage, transparent film and opaque film.

The workshop aims to foster an understanding of and sensitivity towards analogue cinema and its relationship with the visual arts, bringing participants closer to the origins of cinema and cinematic experimentation. To do so, we will look at historical references from the origins of cinema and pre-cinema, as well as experimental film, and experiment with different techniques and materials on film stock.

The main objective of the workshop is to create a small collective experimental piece on 16 mm, made manually and by hand by the participants.

Workshop designed and led by the CraterLab collective.

10:30 am–1:30 pm and 4:30–7:30 pm

Price: €30 (registration opens on 15 September)
