Out of the Corner of My Eye, Interludi #2 with LUCE
Out of the Corner of My Eye is an expression used when you look at something furtively or indirectly, without turning your head or openly paying attention to it. It is like observing something using your peripheral vision, so that it appears you are not looking at it at all. This is the perspective that LUCE uses in his artistic practice. A way of engaging with public space that requires you to pay attention to everything happening around you and adapt to circumstances as they arise.
The modus operandi of LUCE (Valencia, 1989) is to constantly journey through the city. This is his space for exploring, learning and creating. The city and its outskirts are where his graffiti origins lie. And, embedded in this practice is his interest in writing, which is extended throughout his work.
This second Interludi puts words at the centre and approaches them from disciplines such as performance, writing and sound. Through these proposals, words become a shared field of experimentation, generating a framework of relationships, voices and temporalities. A space between day and night, between what is visible and what remains hidden.
