The Time Left. Ignacio Iñigo y Lorenzo Fernández
The Time Left brings together a selection of works created by Ignacio Iñigo over the last three years in Barcelona. In these works, painting moves beyond its condition as an image to become a field of inquiry into matter, time, and processes of transformation. Layers that accumulate, age, fracture, or fold back upon themselves establish connections with natural phenomena such as erosion, gravity, and sedimentation, revealing a practice attuned to the slow rhythms of observation and experimentation.
In dialogue with this body of work, Lorenzo Fernández presents a painting that takes as its starting point a three-dimensional structure created by Iñigo from acrylic paint. His hyperrealist reinterpretation incorporates a composition of figures characteristic of his own visual language, generating a work in which both artistic vocabularies converge. The result offers a reflection on time and on the boundaries between painting and sculpture, object and image, representation and presence.
