In Conversation: Donna Ferrato and Tomeu Coll
As part of the Panoramic festival and on the occasion of Donna Ferrato’s exhibition Holy, Foto Colectania is collaborating with the festival by hosting a conversation between the artist and the exhibition’s curator, Tomeu Coll.
Donna Ferrato, author of the acclaimed photobook Living with the Enemy, has spent more than forty years exploring, through photography, intimacy, desire, power relations and violence in women’s lives. Her photographic practice, closely connected to activism and to her work with survivors of domestic violence and sex trafficking, has helped bring these realities into the public sphere and transform photography into a tool for bearing witness and raising awareness.
On Friday, October 16, at Foto Colectania, Ferrato and Coll will discuss the continued relevance of her work, the role of photography in addressing violence against women, and the need to continue creating spaces for thought and reflection on the structures that sustain it.
