Exercices on Permanence. María Elena Pombo, Miguel Braceli

Both María Elena Pombo and Miguel Braceli understand territory as a construct in constant transformation, shaped by relationships, gestures, and forms of participation. Their practices propose thinking about permanence through movement, collaboration, and change, rather than stability. Through different languages, both artists engage with what persists and what transforms: traces of collective actions, marks on the landscape, material remnants, and ephemeral gestures that exist only while they are shared. Their works activate spaces of encounter where knowledge is built relationally and new forms of belonging can emerge. º In both cases, the landscape ceases to be a passive setting and becomes a living agent, capable of bringing together bodies, histories, and communities around futures yet to be imagined.
