Front per a l'Emancipació i el Deliri Col·lectiu (FEDC). Gabriel Ventura

In his first solo exhibition at a gallery, Gabriel Ventura presents a show that traces a brief journey through the archive of the FEDC (Front for Emancipation and Collective Delirium), a fictional armed group created in the context of his new book. Through a series of works in different formats, the exhibition delves into the tactics, theories and political programme of a contemporary anarchist group that fights both for informational sovereignty and for the psychic freedom of citizens. Inspired by groups such as the Red Brigades, Action Directe and the Red Army Faction, the members of the FEDC defend guerrilla warfare as a means of combating capitalist powers. Their actions consist of attacking the technological and logistical infrastructures of large multinationals and, in particular, newly built data centres.

The FEDC combines utopian political thought with highly specific cosmic conceptions, rooted in the historical link between mysticism and anarchism. We are faced with an armed group that takes a stand for a political, psychic and sensory revolution. From the FEDC’s point of view, one of the great problems of all revolutions is their extremely rational dimension. The FEDC defends a sensorially more complex, unpredictable and mysterious world, in which synchronicities and the cult of chance are also political elements.
