“Gatherers of Time Folds”: exhibition by Mária Jančová

After a two-month residency at Homesession, Slovak artist Mária Jančová presents her exhibition Gatherers of Time Folds, on June 18th, from 6 to 9 pm.

Gatherers of Time Folds explores time as a material condition: folded, accumulated, and dispersed across objects, bodies, and environments. Bringing together works, assemblages, material traces, and gestures of collecting, the exhibition reflects on how temporalities intersect, overlap, and sediment within matter.

Moving between presence and disappearance, memory and transformation, the works explore the ways in which objects participate in broader networks of movement and exchange. The exhibition invites to consider time not as a fixed measure, but as a constellation of relations continuously shaped by encounters between human and non-human worlds.

Mária Jančová (Čadca, Slovakia, 1992) is an interdisciplinary artist, curator, and writer, living in Prague. Her work has been presented in Prague, Frankfurt, Seoul, and Paris. Her practice operates between sound, materiality, and artistic research.

Through installations and performances using organic materials and resonant objects, she creates polyphonic environments in which sound articulates fragmented and continuously transforming forms of memory.

Her work, influenced by biology, hauntology, and materialist thought, understands memory not as something stored or retrieved, but as a phenomenon activated through material processes. Within this framework, absence becomes a space of potentiality through which perception, relation, and meaning are continuously reconfigured.
