Grief Becomes. Natalia Lassalle Morillo

Grief Becomes brings together fragments of the 2019 protests in Puerto Rico that led to the resignation of Governor Ricardo “Ricky” Rosselló. Drawing on images and audio recordings captured during the demonstrations, the film explores grief as a catalyst for political transformation and the affective power that emerges when bodies come together in protest. At the same time, it reflects on the disillusionment that follows uprisings and on a reality that remains marked by precarity, violence, and oppression. The title comes from Cantos de Tormentas, a text written in collaboration with ayorinde d. Peebles.
